Early Life
Y'lu was born into a family with 3 children. An older brother and a twin sister. The family ran a small shop and while they were never wealthy, they made enough to live comfortably.
With her older brother set to inherit the business, Y'lu grew up enjoying a more active lifestyle: climbing trees, playing swords, getting into small fights with other kids. She was always in some kind of trouble while her sister was more of a quite child, preferring to read books and not get all messy. Her and her sister remained close into their teens. When Y'lu began to get involved in more adventurous activities her sister would always try to convince her to stay home. Y'lu would often come home beat up from fights or various adventures. She loved the thrill of a fight and some people she had grown close to talked her into doing some small crimes here and there. Slowly she took bigger and bigger jobs, drafting away from her sister and family and more into crime. The Crime TimeDuring this period of her life she gained a lot of experiences. She learned to fight, learned about handling money, how crime is run and operated, and most importantly she picked up a hobby of creating various weapons and gadgets. She was particular about the kind of jobs she would take, thinking of herself as more of a robinhood kind of criminal. She was no stranger to murder and assassinations but she generally tried to avoid doing a lot of it. Most of her time was spent stealing from rich merchants, smuggling, fighting various monsters and helping with larger scale operations.During one of her jobs she was stabbed in the chest and fell off of a balcony into the street below. Although she managed to survive and resume a somewhat normal life, she never fully recovered from her injuries and could no longer do much physical activity. She was devastated and lost her direction in life, unable to pursue her goals of adventure and interesting fights. She ended up throwing herself into her work with weapons and tools, refining her craft and making a small name for herself by selling various things. The Girlboss EraY'lu may have lost her ability to participate directly in things but she couldn't resist getting involved. She recruited a lot of friends she'd made along the way and utilized her connections in the criminal underworld to start up a business selling weapons and tools to various groups.Being more disconnected from the frontlines of crime, she became less picky about what she was involved in, selling weapons and smuggling things for whoever paid well. She rarely needed to get involved in any action but those who caused problems got to experience the quality of Y'lu's revolver first hand.Y'lu eventually amassed a bit of wealth, starting a bunch of workshops and gambling parlors across the various regions. She kept her weapons business from growing too large, preferring to keep it more exclusive and instead invest into expanding her other business ventures. Until one day she was made a very enticing offer.A long time business partner made a request for a very large amount of arms, offering to pay well over the usual rate. Unaware of the consequences and tempted by the sum of money she accepted.Oh Fuck That's A Lot of Dead People. The buyer of the weapons had told her it was for enhancing their defense after they expanded their operations. Y'lu didn't trust the explanation and had it investigated. It wasn't until after the deal had gone through that she caught wind of something big happening near where she had grown up.Feeling uneasy, she arranged a trip back home. Her brother had moved the family business to a larger city and was doing well but her sister remained in their hometown. As she got closer she received news that the group that bought the weapons were hired to bolster a local army in a territorial war. Knowing that the group was prone to banditry and was particularly ruthless she rushed her journey home.Passing through a razed village, the neighboring one to her small home town, her panic grew. She was finally able to catch up to the marauding army, making their way through Y'lu's hometown.Y'lu, with the help of her friends and her wife, M'eowsi, rushed through the fighting to her sisters home. They found her their injured but still alive. they defended the home form the marauders and eventually things quieted down. Y'lu was ashamed and full of regret. Her sister comforted her and convinced her to reform her business and to use her wealth and influence for better things. She sold off a lot of her business, ceased her weapon production, and started investing into ways to help people. Her sister joining her as they began to help rebuild their hometown and start to do some good.
